About MIPS
Medical Indemnity Protection Society (MIPS) is a not-for-profit and medical defence organisation dedicated to providing indemnity insurance to thousands of Australian healthcare professionals, including doctors, dentists, oral health experts, and nuclear medicine technologists.
The organisationās ambition is to be recognised as an industry leader, committed to protecting healthcare professionals as they tirelessly care for others. MIPS plays a pivotal role in assisting its members when adverse outcomes arise in the course of their professional practice. This assistance includes collegiate support and understanding, in addition to the management of complaints and claims against members.
Our journey began in 1988 when we were established by the Medical Protection Society (MPS) UK to protect the interests of healthcare professionals and students. Over the years, we have adapted to changing regulations and industry dynamics, ensuring the stability and quality of service our members rely on. MIPS has consistently evolved and expanded its services and currently serves a thriving community of over 50,000 members.
